With the kids out of school, graduations completed and Father’s Day over, it’s time for vacation. Travel to Sonoma County, California and enjoy all the area has to offer. From wine tasting to river rafting, Sonoma County has activities for the entire family.

During the months of July through September there are numerous festivals and events. Below are just a few of the many activities to enjoy while in the area during the next three months.

Outdoor Fun from Petaluma to Duncan's Mills

Besides the local fireworks on the July 4th, take time to enjoy the Petaluma Art & Garden Festival, July 11 in Petaluma, CA. Watch period re-enactments at Civil War Days, July 17-18 in Duncan’s Mills, CA. For those who want to try a variety of foods, visit the Sonoma County Fair, July 27 – August 8 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, in Santa Rosa, CA.

Food and Wine Festivals in Sonoma County

The smell of harvest is in the air, and it’s time for the Gravenstein Apple Fair, August 14-15 in Sebastopol, CA. Wine lovers will drink up the fun at Grape to Glass, August 20-22 in the beautiful Russian River Valley. For seafood lovers, taste the delights at the Bodega Bay Seafood, Art and Wine Festival, August 28-29 in Bodega Bay, CA.

Celebrate the Grape Harvest Along the Russian River

With the fall season just around the corner, wine lovers will enjoy the Sonoma Wine Country Weekend, September 3-5 at various locations all over Sonoma County. Great music will be heard at the Russian River Jazz & Blues Festival, September 11-12 on the river in Guerneville. Hikers and outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the Old Grove Festival, September 24 & 25 at Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve in Guerneville, CA.

Activities for the Kids from Sonoma to Santa Rosa

There are other places to visit in Sonoma County, CA that are perfect for the kids. Try stopping by Sonoma Train Town Railroad located in Sonoma, CA. It’s open daily from June through Labor Day. Another fun stop is the Charles M Schultz Museum, in Santa Rosa, CA. Drop in for public skating next door at Snoopy’s Home Ice, The Redwood Empire Ice Arena. For the guys, there are several championship golf courses available. The kids will love to play miniature golf in Rohnert Park, CA. Moms can relax at the many spas across the county. Wine tasting is available daily at approximately 200 wineries.

Sonoma County, California is located approximately 30 miles north of San Francisco. With so many things to do from the coast to the vines, vacationers will need to take a vacation from their vacation!
